agar's-a collection of six soccer pitches, a cricket pitch, a couple of rugby pitches and a hockey pitch. Located to the north of the school
beak - a teacher
bill - list of boys wanted by the Headmaster for any breach of rules or a meeting with the Headmaster
boy - pupil
business - schoolwork done on any day (word has been obsolete though)
cannon yard - the forecourt of the New Schools
choices - lists of the boys who represent the school at rowing or any game
division - a class or form of boys taught together in any subject
fixtures - a little green book which contains all the term's information
Fourth of June - Eton's "Parents Day"...the school is opened up to parents, friends and relations
half - a term of school time--there are three halfs to a year
Judy's Passage - the passage from the Dorney Road to the space in front of New Schools between Cotton Hall House and Waynflete at one end, and Common Lane House and Holland House at the other
keeper - used instead of captain in certain games
lent-the spring half
lowerboy - a boy in Remove or Fourth Form
michaelmas - the autumn half
passing - test in swimming which boys are required to pass before they are allowed on the river
porny school - the Eton elementary school
rowlands - small school-run shop selling food and drinks
slab - the central meeting area in a house
sock - almost anything to eat, but especially sweet stuff.
staying out - excused school owing to illness
tap - the school bar..it serves alcoholic drinks to C and B blocks
trials - examination of all boys held at the end of each Half
