...For April 2006
April 29, 2006 -It was a happy reunion for Harry as he was greeted by his old friends from the orphanage where he worked during his gap year. He added that he hoped they remembered him but it could be hard to tell and said little Mutsu, to whom he had taught some English in 2004, still spoke it as well as when Harry had last seen him- but the prince conceded that that might not be too well!
Harry gave an on-camera interview to mark the event. Quotes from that interview can be read at: http://www.princeofwales.gov.uk/princes/harry/060428_sentebale_01.html
SHE must have known the moment she tried it on. A sheath of turquoise satin, it clung in all the right places, skimming lightly over her hips, scooping low at the back and flowing, mermaid-like, to the floor.
Chelsy Davy was always going to draw looks when she attended Prince Harry’s passing-out ball at Sandhurst last Wednesday. But dressed in her slinky gown, with her hair pinned up, elongating her neck and tanned back, she did more than that.
Whether she was standing aside while Harry posed for photographs with his brother officers – or more often their female guests – or kissing him passionately on the dance floor, Chelsy was the belle of the ball.
Last Wednesday, after completing his 44- week training, 21- year- old Harry finally passed out of Sandhurst.
Officer Cadet Wales became Second Lieutenant Wales of The Blues and Royals, marching before the Sovereign – ‘Granny’ to him – resplendent in his ceremonial uniform.
Prince Charles and Camilla, his former nanny Tiggy Pettifer, family friends Hugh and Emilie van Cutsem and his brother William – who does not pass out until December – were there to witness the day’s ceremonies. Twenty- year- old Chelsy was absent. According to friends, she did not want to ‘upstage’ Harry.
But, just two weeks after Harry was caught at a lapdancing bar in Slough, it seems as likely that Chelsy did not want to risk being upstaged herself that evening. She spent the afternoon at the hairdressers before pouring herself into what she informed friends was a ‘show-stopping’ dress.
According to one who was there, Chelsy’s efforts paid off: ‘She looked absolutely stunning. Her dress was amazing. There must have been 2,000 people there but you couldn’t help looking at her wherever she was, which was usually by Harry’s side.
‘ They were happy to talk to other people but weren’t really hanging out with anybody but each other. They were very much there as a couple, while most other people were p a r t o f b i g g e r groups.’
Although each cadet is allowed to invite nine guests to the day and evening celebrat i o n s , t h e only guests to join Harry in the evening were Chelsy a n d h i s brother. Willi a m ’ s g i r l friend Kate Middleton had been expected to attend but did not.
An artist’s impression of how Chelsy, in a stunning satin dress, drew gasps at the Sandhurst party
Not that Harry’s spirits were dampened. According to one 23-year-old guest: ‘Harry was having a whale of a time. He was excited like all the cadets. The atmosphere on the night, once the ceremony is over and the champagne corks start popping, is incredible.
‘ I thought it would be really formal and stiff, considering it’s black tie and military, but it was nothing of the sort.’ The evening was a chaotic mixture of great tradition and surprising informality. There was no sit-down meal, instead officer cadets proudly wore their £2,000 tailored mess suits for the first time as they ate hamburgers from a van parked in the grounds. Onion rings were washed down with champagne. And the usually immaculate site was turned into something resembling a travelling fairground, with dodgems and other attractions hired for the occasion.
The evening began at 7.30 when cadets and their guests had drinks with their platoons. Beer, wine, champagne, gin and vodka were served freely as videos of each cadet’s ‘highlights’ were played to raucous applause and laughter. At 9.30 the guests converged on the college gymnasium, which had been breathtakingly transformed for the evening. Covered walkways linked a series of rooms. In one, a live band played in front of a chequered dance floor, surrounded by high tables, uplit in red. In another there was jazz.
Elsewhere guests could play roulette or blackjack in a casino, drink vodka from an ice bar or eat from a chocolate fountain. In another room, scenes from the day’s parade were played on large screens.
One partygoer said: ‘ The music was pretty cheesy in the band room. But it got everybody up dancing and singing. At the beginning of the evening everybody just wanted to see Harry or touch him and get close to him. His bodyguards stood around as he and Chelsy danced and kissed, which I suppose he’s used to by now but it did seem odd. He was joking with other cadets and is obviously very popular. He was happy to talk to anybody who approached him, though he did seem keener to talk to the girls.’
At one point an excited female guest asked Harry to pose with her for a photograph. He obliged and, turning to walk away, winked at his bodyguard and mouthed: ‘ Phwoar, she’s hot.’
A witness said: ‘It was hilarious. He was just having a bit of fun and is really flirty. Chelsy was nearby and didn’t look that amused. Plenty of girls wanted to get close to him and it didn’t matter to them that Chelsy was there. At one point a group of four or so girls, who were quite drunk, dared one of their friends to pinch Harry’s bum. Instead of being annoyed, Harry just pinched her bum back and she ran off giggling.’
Just before midnight the guests rushed outside for a spectacular fireworks display.
Then, to applause and shouting, the cadets tore off the velvet strips that had been covering their officers’ pips on their suits.
‘ It’s a big deal for them,’ one guest explained. ‘Everybody made sure they had plenty of champagne and headed outside. I saw some people being sick and a few falling over. There were still some parents there, which amazed me – especially when a couple of older ladies fell down a few times.’
But ignoring the good- natured jibes from his fellow cadets – who shouted: ‘ Where’s that ginger w**** r?’ – Harry chose to linger inside and do what he’d spent most of the night doing: kissing Chelsy, drinking and smoking. ‘Harry was very much there with Chelsy,’ said one guest. ‘They were snogging, hugging and holding hands, massively and openly affectionate.’
Eventually Harry did emerge to join his platoon for the traditional photographs beneath the fireworks some 20 minutes later. And one guest recalled: ‘When we went back to the gymnasium we were met with this terrific sight of “Congratulations!” spelt out in a banner of fireworks above the door. Most people went back in and continued partying.
‘At 1.30am breakfast was served. You had to queue with a plastic plate and get a sausage sandwich or bacon roll and a cup of coffee. I didn’t see Harry at breakfast – I don’t think he was there.
‘It would have been easy for Chelsy and Harry to sneak off for some private time. They’ve not seen each other for months, have they? Other girls were disappearing into dark corners or back to the cadets’ rooms.
‘When we’d arrived, security was tight. But once we were in we could go pretty much where we liked.’
Until 3.30am, that is, when the ball ended in true military style. ‘There was no question of staying for one more drink or one more dance,’ said a guest. ‘The colonels came right up to people and just yelled, ‘Out!’ It was pretty brutal.
‘If you were getting a taxi, you had to walk all the way to the main gates, which are a good ten minutes from the ball. I saw several girls carrying their shoes and tramping barefoot. Lots of people slept in their cars or on sofas and in corridors. Some tried to sleep in the marquees but they were kicked out sharpish.’
The following morning, normal life, Sandhurst-style, resumed for both Harry and William.
For Harry, there is the consolation that this was his last duty before leaving Sandhurst. Now he is looking forward to a 12- day holiday with Chelsy.
The couple are understood to be flying to an island off Mozambique, where Chelsy has organised an Easter egg hunt, big-game fishing and a sunset trip in a dhow.
PRINCE Harry may have been beaming with pride at his passing-out parade but it seems there was another reason for the young Royal’s blushes as he was congratulated by his grandmother – he was hiding a secret. I can reveal that the Queen’s mischievous grandson had been confined to barracks by Sandhurst top brass for three weekends ahead of his notorious outing to a lap-dancing club.
The 21-year-old Prince was banned from leaving after senior officers found his room ‘looking like a pigsty’ – and discovered two packets of cigarettes under his mattress.
Harry, who recently claimed to have quit smoking, was given a stern tickingoff and grounded, according to fellow cadets. And it was this that led to his liaison with the lap-dancers.
‘ Harry went to Spearmint Rhino because he needed to let off steam,’ reports a fellow cadet. ‘He had been gated for three weeks because his room was a tip.
‘At Sandhurst there are very strict regulations about how rooms are to be kept. Nothing is allowed to be left on the floor and photos and posters are not to be put on walls. Cadets even have to iron their bed linen and curtains, and mattresses are checked. That’s when they discovered Harry’s cigarettes.
‘You are allowed to smoke at Sandhurst in your free time but not when you’re in the college. Harry was banned from going out and bored stiff so when the ban was lifted he decided to go a little crazy.’
The Palace dismissed the trip to the club in Slough, with one aide even quipping: ‘He’s joined the Army not a monastery.’
But would Harry have behaved any better with men of the cloth? I fear not, as his best friend at Sandhurst was unable to keep him on the straight and narrow – despite being a former monk.
Cadet John David Byrne gave up holy orders to join Sandhurst and he and Harry have become firm friends. The pair were pictured standing next to one another at last week’s passing-out ceremony. A spokesman for the Prince told The Mail on Sunday: ‘ Any action against a cadet is dealt with by Sandhurst.’

It started as a few well-deserved drinks to mark a double royal celebration. And it ended over 30 hours later with complaints from Army top brass and Prince William spilling out of a nightclub accompanied by his brother's girlfriend. Last night details of William and Harry's marathon drinking session raised concerns about their excessive partying. The festivities began with a lavish ball at Sandhurst at 7pm last Wednesday, as Harry passed out from the military academy and William started a month-long break from his officer training.
Onlookers said as the night wore on a 'very merry' William raised eyebrows by swearing loudly as he made the most of the free bar. The 23-year-old prince was said to be 'greatly tickled' as one of his friends gave a theatrical impression of a brigadier. Another friend provoked laughter by boasting about how he had lost his wallet during an encounter with a prostitute on a stag night, it was claimed. But senior officers were not amused. The following morning Sandhurst's commandant, General Andrew Ritchie, called Clarence House demanding to know what had happened after receiving a complaint.
Harry, meanwhile, spent most of the night with girlfriend Chelsy Davy. He wore his immaculate new Blues and Royals uniform while his girlfriend chose a turquoise silk ball gown that showed off her tanned back. The Zimbabwean-born 21-year-old student also wore a new pair of platinum earrings, believed to be a gift from Harry to apologise for his trip to a lapdancing club. Harry, 21, was earlier inspected by the Queen as he passed out from Sandhurst as a second lieutenant in the Household Cavalry.
William left the ball early, but is said to have continued drinking at his barracks and had just one hour's sleep. Undeterred, he was out again withhis brother that evening, this time to their favourite West London nightclub Boujis. Accompanied by Miss Davy and William's girlfriend Kate Middleton, they spenta reported £2,500 on drinks.
Miss Middleton left the club at 1.45am and Harry left through the rear door 40 minutes later. But it wasn't until 3.30am that a dishevelled-looking William and Miss Davy finally emerged.
Harry has become known for his wild lifestyle but royal sources said William is regarded as almost as much a party lover as his brother. Friends played down the incident at the ball, insisting William had been enjoying a night out at the start of his break. A spokesman for Clarence House said: 'No official complaint has been made. Someone had had a word and that's it.'

CARD shark Prince Harry has been dubbed Flush Harry after getting hooked on playing poker with Army pals.
Harry, 21, was taught a form of the game called Texas Hold'em by fellow cadets at Sandhurst — and has amazed them with a spectacular winning streak. But he has not been able to cash in, as strict rules ban recruits from playing cards for money.
A Sandhurst source said: "Harry didn't have a clue how to play at first, but he's taken to it like a duck to water. He is part of a card school that get together most nights and is an absolute whizz. Playing poker has become as much a part of Army life as cleaning your boots. Most soldiers and recruits set up games in their rooms in groups of four or more and relax with a few beers. Harry's seen as one of the lads and he thought playing poker would be a good way to fit in."
Harry, who has a £30million fortune, resisted the lure of playing for money at the military academy in Berkshire. But pals fear he may be tempted once he joins the Blues and Royals this week.
An insider at the regiment, based at Combermere barracks in Windsor, said: "Although we are not allowed to play for money, it does go on. Harry's not short of a few quid so I'm sure there will be lads who'll want to see if they can supplement their wages. But he's not stupid, I'm sure he'll be wary.It is not as if he needs the money. To him it's just a bit of fun."
Harry and Chelsy’s 48-HOUR bender

EXCLUSIVE by VICTORIA WARD WITH a packet of cigarettes stuffed in his pocket Prince Harry hugs a friend during a 48-hour booze bender to celebrate passing out from Sandhurst. Harry, 21, downed vodka shots, Cristal champagne and bottles of Carlsberg beer while girfriend Chelsy Davy, 20, knocked back red wine in the marathon session. PRINSSHH Second Lieutenant Windsor HARRY joins the Booze and Royals By VICTORIA WARD and CAROLINE HEDLEY PRINCE Harry celebrated passing out as an army officer – by knocking back enough booze to pass out again. In a first 10-hour session of a 48-hour bender Harry guzzled an astonishing variety of drink including bottles of Carlsberg, vodka shots and champagne. His girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 20, happily knocked back glasses of red wine. Bottle in hand, Harry clasps colleague in a boozy embrace – a guest said: “He was drinking anything he could lay his hands on” Flushed with alcohol the 21-year-old prince hugged an army colleague and at one point looked as if he was reeling dangerously backwards. The following night he splashed out £2,500 on booze with brother Wills and his girlfriend Kate Middleton, 24, at a fashionable nightclub. Their drinks included potent “crack babies” – vodka, champagne, passion fruit and strawberries – and £400 bottles of Belvedere vodka, as well as booze on the house. And when the bash wound up at 4am they told staff they were off to a house party. Last night a friend of Harry’s said: “Everyone knows he likes to let his hair down. But even by his standards, this was a monstrous session. For now, he just wants to party.” Second Lieutenant Harry Windsor, who is to join the Blues and Royals, celebrated after graduating from Sandhurst on Wednesday. At a lavish ball held at the army college in Camberley, Surrey, revellers were treated to a free bar, complete with ice sculptures of naked women drenched in tequila. As the night wore on Harry – in full regimental dress – knocked back vodka REELING: Harry appears to lurch backwards as he celebrates with army friends at passing out bash and champagne, puffed on Cuban cigars and smoked Marlboro Light cigarettes. Chelsy, wearing a stunning backless green dress and blue wrap, was never far from his side. The couple, who were joined by Wills, spent most of the night with friends in the main party tent, where a DJ played cheesy chart hits like Abba’s Dancing Queen. A guest said: “Although Harry didn’t dance he was in full party mode. There was a lot of canoodling going on with Chelsy. They were holding hands and kissing. "She drank red wine all night but Harry seemed to drink anything he could lay his hands on and wasn’t afraid of mixing them. He was smoking cigars he brought back from exercise in Cyprus and was constantly puffing on his Marlboros. “William was on form too. When I told him my friend was in Harry’s platoon, he said ‘Yeah, he’s a right ginger f***ing bastard’.” But one night of celebration was not enough for the young royals. Just before midnight on Thursday Harry, Chelsy, Wills, 23, and Kate met at Boujis nightclub, in Kensington, West London. Within minutes, waitresses were called over with the first of many bottles of Belvedere. A source said: “After an hour or so the party were really well lubricated and they started to leave the confines of their sealed-off area. “William led a few of his friends on to the dancefloor. The other punters looked stunned that he was willing to mix with them but he didn’t want a fuss made of him. “But Harry was understandably still the man of the moment. “By the time they left they were all pretty much the worse for wear – still it’s good that Harry gets it out of his system before he joins the Blues and Royals.” Or should that be the Booze and Royals?

BOOZY Prince William and his gang of braying pals outraged guests at Prince Harry's passing-out ball with disgraceful drunken antics. They were so SOZZLED and out of control they could hardly stand, complained VIPs. And Wills was finally advised to QUIT the glittering black tie bash and go to BED in his Sandhurst quarters. One of his crowd angered military top brass by POSING as a senior army officer all evening. Another boasted loudly that he'd lost his wallet to a stag-night HOOKER. Just hours afterwards Sandhurst's commandant General Andrew Ritchie rang William's office at Clarence House to register the complaints and ask for an explanation. The prince's private secretary, former SAS officer Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, is now trying to smooth over the row. But the embarrassment didn't stop Wills going out clubbing the following night—after just one hour's sleep— and partying till dawn. His astonishing behaviour cast a shadow over little brother Prince Harry's big day when he passed out of the famous military academy as a second lieutenant in the Household Cavalry. Earlier he had beamed with pride as he shared a joke with his grandmother the Queen during the parade. Twits But at the ball afterwards William and his loudmouthed cronies astounded guests with the amount of champagne, vodka and beer they guzzled. Their outrageous drunken behaviour got steadily worse as the night went on, before the prince apparently took the advice of senior officers and went to bed early. A source at Sandhurst, where William, 23, is also training, said: "One of his civvy pals impersonated a brigadier all evening and tried ordering people about. He and the royal gang thought it very funny." "Another found it highly hilarious to brag about a stag-night encounter with a prostitute and losing his wallet. Nobody else found them funny, but it was typical of their sort of Hooray Henry behaviour. "These people are upper class twits who should know better. "Because of the behaviour of Wills and his friends, the prince was ‘advised' to leave the party and go to bed. Which he did. "But the really surprising thing is it was Prince William behaving in this way, not his brother. "Prince Harry was as good as gold all night. He was a perfect officer and gentleman." William's girlfriend Kate Middleton wasn't at the do. She was on the guest list but didn't turn up. However the prince is red-faced and smarting over the complaints. He claims that while he was having a boozy night, the allegations are "much exaggerated". A family friend said: "He admits he and his pals had drunk quite a lot, but says they weren't out of control. William is angry people have been telling tales to the commandant. "But it's hugely embarrassing that Clarence House got an earful from the general." Wills told a pal: "I was pretty good all night. I was a bit drunk but not massively so. It's all pretty unfair that the commandant is involved." Last night a Clarence House spokesman confirmed William's office has been assisting General Ritchie with his inquiry since Thursday. It is understood that the academy will not be laying a formal charge against William. "We've spoken to Sandhurst and no official complaint has been made. Someone had had a word and that's it," said a spokesman. As the row erupted, friends of Prince William tried to play it down as "trivial". One said: "There was one lad pretending to be an officer and it seems to have upset some people. News went straight up to the commandant and he started asking questions. "William doesn't want to name the chap or go into detail. He's being admirably loyal to a friend. "It was a party and they'd had a few drinks, but none of them can remember anything untoward. There was some larking about and boisterousness. He admits going to bed early but says he himself decided to leave." Meanwhile friends were astounded it was William in trouble. He's seen as the wiser brother to wild Prince Harry. One said: "The fact is William likes to party just as hard as his brother, but he's usually a lot more careful. What will be irking him most is that he and his friends got caught. He usually knows just the right time to go home. "But at Sandhurst William is no longer surrounded by a gang of cronies all willing to take the blame for him. He has to take it on the chin, whether it's fair or unfair." As our exclusive pictures reveal, besotted brother Harry, 21, had too much of a handful with stunning girlfriend Chelsy Davy to misbehave. Smooch The couple had obviously recovered from the tiff over his night out at a lap-dancing bar. She wore a new pair of PLATINUM EARRINGS, thought to be a gift from Harry to say sorry. A pal said: "She was furious at the time about him ogling strippers, but he's hard to stay angry with." In his smart new Blues and Royals dress uniform he barely left her side all night. A guest said: "They were very sweet together, always touching each other or holding hands. "I noticed them just swaying together to the music. Chelsy whispered something in his ear and he just pulled her to him and gave her a great big hug. A few minutes later she led Harry on to the dance floor for a slow smooch." Tanned Chelsy, 21, looked sensational in a revealing backless dress, with her blonde locks swept up into a sophisticated hairdo. "Chelsy clearly adores him and he seemed to be introducing her to just about everyone he knew there," said one Sandhurst source. The ball boasted a bar with a huge vodka ice fountain. Some guests were getting underneath it to slurp the alcohol straight into their mouths as it trickled down a slab of carved ice. "There was also an alcoholic chocolate fountain and fairground ride," said one guest. The next evening William led the royal partying again—despite having snatched just ONE HOUR'S sleep. Although he left the ball early to go to bed, he ended up drinking in the barracks till dawn on Thursday, snatching a few minutes kip before going on parade. That night he whisked Harry, Chelsy and Kate off to trendy London nightclub Bouji's with friends. Wills was the last to leave with Chelsy at 3.30am on Friday. Harry left 40 minutes before. And Kate ducked out even earlier at 1.45am. April 15, 2006 -

On the face of it they couldn't be more different. One is blonde, the other brunette. One is voluptuous, the other willowy. One is a boisterous party girl, the other reserved and somewhat introverted. In fact, ostensibly the only thing Chelsy Davy and Kate Middleton have in common is that they have both been voted among the 100 sexiest women in the world by the readers of lads' mag, FHM magazine. Oh, and the small matter that they are in line to become princesses. Indeed, while there can be no denying they differ hugely, they have been romantically involved with Princes William (Kate) and Harry (Chelsy) for so long they are almost part of the furniture. As Harry celebrates his graduation from Sandhurst this week, it is worth noting he is also quietly preparing for another milestone. His relationship with Chelsy will soon reach its second anniversary, and those close to the Prince say it is stronger than ever. Meanwhile, William's relationship with Kate is so well-established she was invited into the royal box at Cheltenham by Prince Charles, despite the fact the young Prince was 90 miles away at Sandhurst. So William and Harry are taking their first tentative steps into independent adulthood, each with a strong woman by his side.
And while there may have been initial reservations within the royal household about the suitability of their girlfriends — Chelsy, in particular — the Daily Mail understands discreet moves are being made to shift them on to a more formal footing within the Royal Family. Both, for example, are regular visitors to Highgrove. And their relationships are sufficiently well-established for the Princes to share bedrooms with their partners.
And then there was Harry's passing out ball on Thursday night. More than 1,000 guests were there to mark the midnight hour when the Sandhurst cadets ripped the tape off their pips and became fully fledged officers. Amid the fireworks and popping corks there was no doubt the belle of the ball was Chelsy, beaming with pleasure at her first official function with Harry. A proud William was also there to congratulate his brother. As a cadet, for the time being he is obliged to salute him — much to Harry's delight.
'Chelsy is a non-negotiable part of his life' Kate was unable to be present. But contrary to some reports, this was not a snub. The simple truth is William was there as a guest of Harry's and was not allowed to invite a partner. Kate was never going to be able to go, though William would have loved to have her there, says a source. "It was Harry's big night, and he was absolutely thrilled to have Chelsy by his side to share the moment." Of course, it is early days for Harry and Chelsy. She is just 20; he is a few months older at 21. But courtiers have been left in no doubt about the strength of their feelings for each other.
"Harry has made it clear that as far as he is concerned, Chelsy is a non-negotiable part of his life, just as Camilla was for his father," says a member of the royal household. Meanwhile, though they could hardly be described as close friends, it is understood Chelsy and Kate have developed an understanding based on their shared circumstances. So what motivates the two young women who have captured the hearts of William and Harry? Are they really so different?
"Nowhere near as much as you might imagine," says a source. "If you scratch the surface, they have a lot in common, though they are obviously very different. "Physically, they are chalk and cheese. Chelsy loves vamping it up in clingy little tops that barely contain her ample chest and she likes to wear chunky jewellery — dangly earrings and big necklaces. "Kate can also dress sexily, in tight jeans and boots or short skirts from the High Street store Jigsaw. But somehow — maybe because she's willowy and wears more discreet jewellery — she looks more classy." While 24-year-old Kate's style is more in step with the Royal Family — her favourite jewellery items are pearl stud earrings and a simple silver chain around her neck — this 'goody two shoes' side to her nature is understood to have rubbed up the wrong way a few of William's circle.
'She's a good-time girl and everyone thinks she is tremendous fun' Nevertheless, she is well liked by most of his friends. She has become close to a select few, including Thomas van Straubenzee, who accompanied William on his first tour to New Zealand last year, and the infamous Guy Pelly, who was (wrongly) accused of introducing Harry to cannabis.
Chelsy, in contrast, will never be accused of being prim and proper. As the daughter of fabulously wealthy Zimbabwean businessman Charles Davy — controversially linked to dictator Robert Mugabe — that comes as no surprise. "She's a good-time girl and everyone thinks she is tremendous fun," says a friend. Kate also has wealthy parents. Michael and Carole Middleton run a mail order company from their £1 million home near Reading in Berkshire. However, their wealth is nowhere near as substantial or ostentatious as that of the Davy family, as is demonstrated in the girls' different living arrangements. Chelsy is a student at the University of Cape Town, where she is earning impressive grades reading commerce with a special interest in statistics. But she certainly does not live like a typical student. Home — which she shares with her elder brother, Shaun — is a plush house in the city's exclusive Newlands district with electronic gates and a swimming pool. Kate, meanwhile, who left St Andrews University last summer with a degree in fine art, lives in her parents' £800,000 apartment in London. And while Chelsy drives to Cape Town's more salubrious nightclubs (where she is invariably on the guest list) in a silver Mercedes coupe, Kate's favoured transport is the number 137 bus. As one member of William and Harry's circle puts it: "On the face of it, Kate seems to be living a much more restrained life. "But if you look at the reality, she is living in an amazing flat in the best part of London and doesn't pay for any of it herself. "There's talk about her setting up her own business selling children's clothes or something, but all she seems to do is go shopping with her mother in the middle of the week. "Yes, she keeps up appearances impeccably, but none of us can see any evidence of her doing any work. "All of which, it's got to be said, is perfect preparation for being a princess." 'She said she wanted to be famous' Even in their ambitions, the two potential princesses have a lot in common. Both, for example, have expressed a strong interest in a modelling career. At the age of 18, Chelsy phoned a leading South African fashion photographer, Brett Florens, and asked him to help her compose a modelling portfolio. "She said she wanted to be famous," he said. However, this is not the only career in which she has shown an interest. Apparently, she has spoken to friends about the possibility of setting up a PR company or working in marketing. It was through modelling, of course, that Kate caught William's eye, striding down the catwalk in her underwear at a university fashion show. A number of modelling offers followed, but her interest has waned. Like Chelsy, she has come to terms with the fact a potential princess needs to choose her career carefully. But there is no doubt it is Kate who is more at home in front of the cameras. Extremely comfortable in her own skin, she has no compunction in laying down the law with the paparazzi. For example, when asked to pose for pictures at a horse show recently, she refused, saying: "If I did that, then I'd have to do it all the time, skiing, everywhere." Nevertheless, this did not prevent her from flashing a dazzling smile for the cameras and pausing for a moment before turning away. As one source puts it: "People say Chelsy is the pushy one, but they misunderstand Kate if they think she is laid back. "Take Cheltenham, for example. Everyone seems to think Kate had been invited to the races by the Royal Family, but she wasn't. William wasn't there, so why should she be? "In fact, she was there independently, but was being hounded by photographers, so she called some of William's friends for help. In no time at all, Charles and Camilla had invited her into their enclosure. "Make no mistake, Kate knows how to get what she wants and isn't afraid to ask for it." 'We are worried our little girl will never be able to go back to a normal life' Unlike the impeccably groomed Kate, Chelsy has had to contend with the strong feeling among many courtiers that her face simply doesn't fit. Interestingly, however, it is Chelsy's family who are more concerned about the impact her high-profile relationship could have on her life. Her grandfather, 84-year-old Tony Davy, says: "We are worried our little girl will never be able to go back to a normal life. She doesn't have her own bodyguards like Harry does. "It is ironic, really, that the newspapers are writing about how Harry should be worried about associating with Chelsy.
"For us, it is the other way around. She has looked out of her father's beautiful flat in Durban to see the place staked out by photographers. She is not used to that kind of attention. "Whether they stay together or not, her life will not be the same again and that worries me."
His fears are not groundless. When in Cape Town, Chelsy spends a great deal of time and effort playing cat and mouse with photographers who follow her every move. And despite her youthful assertion she wanted to be famous, she is fed up of the fame game.
Witness her arrival at Heathrow earlier this week, when a miserable-looking Chelsy had to be escorted through the airport by five armed police officers. Kate's family, in contrast, are perfectly happy about their daughter's relationship with the future king. Indeed, some members of their circle say the Middletons are rather too happy about it. "They're quite insufferable about it sometimes," says a source, who has known the family for years. William and Harry feel their girlfriends give them the grounding they have been searching for'
Kate's attractive mother, a former air hostess, has had to contend with unfair and untrue gossip that she exhorted her daughter to apply for a place at St Andrews University in a cynical bid to bag the Prince. But friends say there is no mistaking the family's determination that Kate — or Catherine, as she is known at home — should maintain her hold over William.
"They're classic commoners with ideas above their station," says the source. "The fact is that Kate is a wonderful girl — beautiful, demure and with impeccable manners — but there are thousands of girls just like her all over the country. "The way Carole and Michael carry on you would think their daughter was already queen."
Ultimately, however, it is one blessing shared by Kate and Chelsy which attracts the two young Princes more than anything else. Both have extremely close and happy families and their parents' marriages are particularly strong — something the Princes find tremendously appealing. William is seldom more relaxed than when he is standing at the stove in the Middleton residence, cooking chilli for the family.
Harry, meanwhile, likes nothing better than sitting up into the night drinking and swopping stories with Chelsy's parents, Charles and Beverly, and her brother. It is in these quiet, intimate moments, each typical of the girls' differing personalities, that the Princes find a peace of mind which has eluded them for years.
"William and Harry feel their girlfriends give them the grounding they have been searching for since their mother died," says a member of the Princes' inner circle. "And they are understandably reluctant to give that up."

PRINCE Harry celebrated passing out as an army officer - by knocking back enough booze to pass out again.
In a first 10-hour session of a 48-hour bender he and girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 20, guzzled an astonishing variety of drink including bottles of Carlsberg beer, vodka shots and champagne.
Flushed with alcohol the 21-year-old prince hugged an army colleague and at one point looked as if he was reeling dangerously backwards.
The following night he splashed out £2,500 on booze with brother Wills and his girlfriend Kate Middleton, 24, at a fashionable Kensington nightclub. Their drinks included potent "crack babies" - vodka, champagne, passion fruit and strawberries - and £400 bottles of Belvedere vodka, as well as booze on the house.
And when the bash wound up at 4am they told staff they were off to a house party.
Last night a friend of Harry's said: "Everyone knows he likes to let his hair down. But even by his standards, this was a monstrous session. For now, he just wants to party." Second Lieutenant Harry Windsor, who is to join the Blues and Royals, celebrated after graduating from Sandhurst on Wednesday.
At a lavish ball held at the army college in Camberley, Surrey, revellers were treated to a free bar.
As the night wore on Harry knocked back vodka and champagne, puffed on Cuban cigars and smoked Marlboro Light cigarettes.
Chelsy, wearing a stunning backless green dress and blue wrap, was never far from his side. The couple, who were joined by Wills, spent most of the night with friends in the main party tent.
A guest said: "Harry was in full party mode and there was a lot of canoodling going on with Chelsy. Chelsy was drinking red wine all night but Harry seemed to drink anything he could lay his hands on.
"William was on form. When I told him my friend was in Harry's platoon, he said 'Yeah, he's a right ginger f***ing bastard'."
Just before midnight on Thursday Harry, Chelsy, Wills, 23, and Kate met at Boujis nightclub, in Kensington. Within minutes, waitresses were called over with the first of many bottles of Belvedere.
A source said: "After an hour or so the party were really well-lubricated. Harry was understandably the man of the moment.
"By the time they left they were all pretty much the worse for wear - still it's good that Harry gets it out of his system before he joins the Blues and Royals."
Or should that be the Booze and Royals?
WHAT HE DR ANK
10 bottles of Carlsberg
2 cans of Worthington Cream Flow
2 cans of Guinness
5 vodka shots
5 whiskey shots
1 tequila shot from ice fountain
2 sambuca shots
PLUS Cristal champagne, Belvedere vodka, Crack Babies shots (a combination of vodka, champagne, passion fruit and strawberries)
AND CHELSY? Red wine

PRINCE Harry is to visit Scotland on the Queen's 80th birthday for his first official engagement north of the Border.
The 21-year-old prince, who has just passed out of Sandhurst as a second lieutenant, is to join the Prince of Wales to meet children in Glasgow who have participated in Prince's Trust projects.
Prince Charles is president of the trust and Prince Harry's involvement is a sign of his intention to carry out royal duties despite the pressures of his new army career.
A spokesman for Clarence House said: "He wanted to see more of the trust's work and this was an ideal opportunity.
"The army will take priority, but Harry will undertake a limited number of official engagements when he can."
The princes will meet the youths at Larkfield Community Centre, Govanhill on 21 April.

Prince Harry has graduated from Sandhurst as an Army officer, where his passing out parade was inspected by his grandmother - the Queen. The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Camilla and Harry's brother William were also at the ceremony.
The 21-year-old, who last week joined Army pals at a lap dancing club near Slough, is to join the Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals.
Clarence House has released a series of photographs to mark his graduation.
The prince marched in the military college's Sovereign's Parade with 219 officer cadets.
The Queen stopped to have a few words with her grandson during the parade, after which he broke out in a broad grin.
Front line
He becomes a 2nd Lieutenant, his rank is referred to as a Cornet and he will serve in an armoured reconnaissance unit.
He will train to become a troop commander, in charge of 11 men and four light tanks, and could serve in a conflict zone.
My prayers and my trust go with you all
Senior officer Maj Gen Sebastian Roberts said it was "eminently possible" the young royal could find himself serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Tradition dictates that the pips on his shoulder - one star signalling his rank as 2nd Lieutenant - remain covered up until midnight at the Sandhurst ball.
Prince William - also at Sandhurst - will be there ready to rip off the tape when the clock strikes midnight.
Clarence House insisted that Harry's South African girlfriend Chelsy Davy and Kate Middleton, who is William's partner, would not be there during the day.
Chelsy flew into Heathrow on Tuesday and she is believed to be accompanying Harry to the Sandhurst ball in the evening, along with Kate.
Queen's role
The Queen inspected both ranks of the senior division and the front rank of the junior division during the parade.
He took part in final training in Cyprus
Afterwards, she gave a speech to the cadets where she described the parade as a "great occasion".
"This day marks the beginning of what I hope will be highly successful careers," she said.
"My prayers and my trust go with you all."
She also presented the prestigious Sword of Honour to the best cadet and also handed out the Overseas Medal and the Queen's Medal, before addressing the newly-commissioned officers.
It was the first time in 15 years that she has attended a Sovereign's Parade in the quadrangle of the college in Camberley, Surrey.
The prince began training to be an officer in the Army last May.
Pictures released as he leaves Sandhurst were taken in Cyprus last month during battle training.
The prince has again been the subject of tabloid headlines in the last week.
The Daily Mirror and the Sun said the 21-year-old and his friends visited the Spearmint Rhino club near Slough to celebrate the end of his army training.

Forty-four gruelling weeks of officer training come to an end for Prince Harry today as he graduates from Sandhurst Military Academy. The young royal's brother William will be there to congratulate him after the passing out parade, along with Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and his grandparents the Queen and Prince Philip.
The 21-year-old will also be looking forward to being reunited with South African girlfriend Chelsy Davy, who received an escort from armed police upon her arrival at Heathrow Airport, when they meet up for the traditional graduation ball later in the evening.
To his fellow soldiers the third-in-line is now known as Second Lieutenant Harry Wales. And he certainly looked the part in newly released photographs of his final weeks at the academy. The pictures, taken during manoeuvres in Cyprus last month, show the prince in combat fatigues with his face covered in camouflage paint.
Crawling through long grass with his rifle at the ready, Harry was one of over 200 cadets who proved their mettle in Operation Threshold. It won't be the last test of his combat skills, however, as he is due to start training with the Blues and Royals after a short break.
Joining the Army's oldest and most senior regiment will give him the chance to learn from Britain's most experienced soldiers. The Blues and Royals have served in every major conflict of the last two decades, including Kosovo, Bosnia, the Falklands and both Gulf wars. Their newest recruit is to serve in an armoured reconnaissance unit, eventually becoming a troop commander in charge of 11 men and four light tanks.

ARMED police formed a ring of steel around Prince Harry’s girlfriend Chelsy Davy as she jetted in yesterday.
Harry had clearly insisted no chances were taken with his sweetheart’s safety.
And she was given the full royal treatment from the moment she arrived at Heathrow from Cape Town.
Gun-toting guards whisked Chelsy, 20, and a pal to a chauffeur-driven 4x4.
Saucy
But royal sources said Harry, 21, might be the one in need of protection when he meets up with the blonde for the first time since the New Year.
Chelsy is said to be “livid” over revelations about the Prince’s night at a saucy strip club, where he celebrated the completion of his Army training with friends – and a busty Lithuanian lapdancer.
The South African beauty refused to comment yesterday as she arrived for a five-day visit to mark the end of Harry’s stint at Sandhurst.
Chelsy will skip Harry’s passing-out parade today because she doesn’t want to steal his limelight. But she will attend a ball afterwards to party with Harry, his brother Prince William, 23, and girlfriend Kate Middleton, 24.
Harry and Chelsy are said to be planning a romantic break onan island off Mozambique’s coast. But he’ll have to be back for the Queen’s 80th birthday on April 21.
He leaves Sandhurst next week ready for a life in the Army and is determined to see action on the front line when he joins the Household Cavalry’s Blues and Royals.
Harry looked ready for combat in a new series of photos released yesterday. Taken during a training exercise in Cyprus last month, they show him in camouflage with an SA80 assault rifle.
Why did Harry's girl get airport gun guard?

A FIVE-strong airport police guard for Prince Harry's girlfriend was branded a crazy waste of manpower yesterday.
Heiress Chelsy Davy, 20, was met by two armed officers as she flew in to Heathrow from Cape Town. Three more joined her in arrivals before she was whisked off in a 4x4.
Sources said there were concerns about waiting photographers. But angry Labour MP Lynne Jones said: "This is over the top. We should know how much this operation cost."
Fellow Labour MP Alan Simpson joked: "Police obviously know a terrorist suspect when they see one." One airport onlooker said: "I thought a statesman was visiting."
The officers were from Heathrow's SO18 armed response unit, rather than the royalty and diplomatic protection squad SO14. Police would not comment.
Clarence House said: "Harry didn't ask for special protection. But if there's a well known person coming through the airport, and there are lots of photographers, they get support."
South African Chelsy was starting a five-day trip to Britain so she can be with Harry, 21, who passes out at Sandhurst today after completing a 44-week officer training course.
She will miss his passing out parade which will be attended by the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Wills. But she will attend the ball afterwards along with William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton, 24.
It will give her the chance to ask Harry about his trip to a lap-dancing club, revealed in the Mirror. Friends say she is furious.
Pictures of Harry camouflaged and armed with an assault rifle were released yesterday.
They show the 2nd Lieutenant - with his nametag Wales on his helmet - on battle manoeuvres in Cyprus last month. The prince is joining the Blues and Royals.

It may be Charles and Camilla's wedding anniversary but today one newspaper is speculating that William and Kate Middleton may be on the verge of becoming engaged. According to the front page world exclusive in the Sunday Express, security around William's girlfriend of four years is to be stepped up. Meanwhile, in what would be a hugely surprising move due to the scandal attached to this title, the Queen is allegedly set to bestow the title of Duke of Clarence on her grandson in recognition of the 23-year-old Prince's increasing public role and hard work. Such a move usually occurs on the marriage of a royal prince: William's uncles Andrew and Edward respectively became Duke of York and Earl of Wessex on their wedding days. In a repeat of what happened with Camilla when she was Mrs Parker Bowles, the Sunday Express claims they have learnt that 24-year old Kate Middleton is to be protected by a husband and wife team. A royal insider tells the Express: "Ordinarily, girlfriends do not get royal protection until they are engaged, but Clarence House recognises that Kate is in a very vulnerable position. It's obvious that her relationship with William is very serious. We saw that when she appeared in the royal box at Cheltenham with Prince Charles and Camilla. She is coming under more and more media scrutiny and it is felt she needs to be properly protected." "Rather than employing a royal protection officer, they are looking for a retired policeman and his wife to look out for Kate. They feel that it would be better to have a husband and wife team because the wife could be Kate's companion while the husband handles the security side of things." "It would be a bit odd for a 20-something girl to be followed around by a middle-aged man all day, but more natural for her to be looked after by a professional and his wife." Meanwhile, the Queen is said to be considering bestowing the title Duke of Clarence on William in recognition of his Clarence House home. This is apparently despite the links to scandal which encompass this particular title, the last Duke of Clarence (Prince Albert Victor, the eldest son and heir of Queen Victoria) having frequented male brothels, at one point being in danger of arrest. The editor-in-chief of Burke's Peerage, Charles Mosley, tells the paper: "Since the 19th century, titles have most often been given on the coming of age of the recipient. In those days it was 21. It is 18 now, so at 23, nearly 24, William could be considered overdue for a dukedom." "On the other hand, the Queen gave Andrew and Edward new titles on their wedding days. Everyone is waiting for the announcement that William is engaged to Kate Middleton but that is unlikely to come before he finishes Sandhurst in the middle of winter, and even then it would be with a view to a wedding in high summer next year." "I wouldn't be surprised if Buckingham Palace announced the dukedom to coincide with his 24th birthday in June to divert attention from talk of an engagement. Or it could be a reward for him passing out of Sandhurst." "At present both William and Harry are Princes of Wales, but these are peerages. They need to become dukes to be able to sit in the House of Lords, like their father, grandfather and other Dukes in the Royal Family." In response to such speculation, a 'senior Palace source' says: "Prince William has shown a maturity and dignity far beyond his age. A new title is thought to be an appropriate reward." Considering Prince William has always made little of his title, telling friends to call him Will or William, bestowing such a high profile title on the Prince would be highly unexpected and seem to go against everything that William himself seems to want. So too would an engagement at this time, the Prince himself having laughed off speculation he will marry one day soon, saying he sees such an event only happening when he is around 28. Such a move on the Queen's part would also be in danger of upsetting her own son, Prince Edward. Titles matter greatly to the older generation of royals and he is only expected to inherit the title of Duke of Edinburgh on the death of the father he adores, Prince Philip. As a royal source tells the Sunday Express: "Edward has always felt like the odd one out and if William becomes a duke before him he will feel even more isolated." As to be expected with such stories, Clarence House refused to comment on any such speculation about William and Kate, invariably shooting down the newspaper's story by saying: "We can't comment on security matters and there are no moves afoot to recruit a detective team or retired officer." Then again, as Prince Andrew himself unwisely informed the media just a few years ago, Buckingham Palace and the like have been 'lying' to the media for years, the most famous incident being when the Queen's office flatly denied rumours of an engagement between Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips. No sooner had this Press Release been circulated than a wedding date was set! Not that the Palace would play such games today. Surely it's absurb to even think that royal aides at Clarence House would leak a 'happy' story — true or not — about William and Kate to the media so as to divert attention from the more salacious headlines about Harry and the lapdancers. Would they?
As Charles says he’s not angry over his son’s visit to lap dance club, one of the girlswho danced for him offers a littleworldly advice . . .
The Mail on Sunday

By Ian Gallagher and Mark Nicol
IT must have seemed a good idea at the time.
Prince Harry, celebrating the end of his Army training at Sandhurst, agrees to accompany brother officers in the middle of the night to a lap dancing club on the decidedly unglamorous outskirts of an industrial estate near Heathrow.
Life can be notoriously hard for strippers, but for the girls of the Spearmint Rhino club in Colnbrook this was the day when all their Christmases came at once. They lined up to sit on his lap, cavort about a bit – and then, of course, phone the tabloids.
The visit took place between 1am and 4am on Friday. Within 24 hours it was all over the papers. And there was a further shock in store for Harry: everything was captured on CCTV.
Yesterday, the accident-prone young Prince again found himself repenting his failure to think things through.
Having absorbed the impact of the headlines – the red- top soubriquet Dirty Harry getting a prominent dusting-off – he spent the day explaining himself to the Palace and his Army superiors (the relatively easy bit) and to his nonplussed girlfriend Chelsy Davy (the almost impossible bit.) Friends said yesterday the couple were uncontactable – a sign, they said, that the Prince was in the doghouse.
And if that weren’t bad enough he had to suffer the indignity of his father riding to his rescue. A senior aide said through gritted teeth that Prince Charles was not remotely angry. ‘It’s no big deal,’ he insisted. ‘Harry enjoyed himself and was back at base on time.
I’m sure Charles would have visited similar places when he was in the Navy.’
Meanwhile, the girls made hay with at least one selling her story for £20,000 to a downmarket tabloid in a deal brokered by – guess who? – Max Clifford.
A club insider told The Mail on Sunday: ‘ Everyone saw pound signs as soon as we realised who he was.’
The Spearmint Rhino sits between lorry parks and all-night diners. Its mock Tudor exterior suggests it to be a former pub. Entering the humid, dimly- lit ‘ gentlemen’s club’ Prince Harry was met by the sickly aroma of cheap perfume and leopard-print patterned carpet.
After paying his £15 entry fee, he went into the main lounge where empty-eyed dancers totter through the crowd on six-inch stilettos, pausing only to drop an arm over a punter’s shoulder and gently ask his name. They proceed through a routine of touching gestures intended to entice him into paying for a dance.
One of the first to approach Harry was a dancer called Margo who told reporters that despite her best efforts – and this begins Harry’s case for the defence – the Prince declined to pay for an intimate private dance.
As she gyrated in his lap, she said, the Prince talked to her about life at Sandhurst – but said he could not have a more sensual encounter because he was so in love with his stunning girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
‘He told me that he was enjoying it but that he missed his girlfriend a lot,’ she told a friend. ‘He told me that the worst thing about being a prince was that he can’t go anywhere without people looking at him. I told him: “Well that’s how it goes, darling”.’
Margo said that Harry thought paying for a private dance would be ‘like cheating’ on Chelsy but didn’t mind engaging her in conversation. ‘He was happy to talk away,’ she said. ‘He’s a really handsome boy and was really nice to talk to.’
Harry’s companions, however, did hand over the £60 for an erotic dance. ‘The Prince got an eyeful, and loved every minute of it,’ said one witness.
Thirty-one-year-old Margo (who also calls herself Mariella and Kimy) was wearing yellow hotpants and a matching bra. Harry only had to say the word and she would have happily taken them off.
She said: ‘I couldn’t believe I was sitting on a prince’s lap. But he was the perfect gentleman He was definitely the most polite and well-spoken client I have ever had. After spending some time with Harry I feel like a princess.’
Margo/Mariella/Kimy, a mother of one who sometimes says she is from Lithuania and sometimes the Home Counties, added: ‘When I saw him I didn’t know who he was but one of the other girls said it was Prince Harry. I went straight over to him and kissed him on both cheeks.
‘I asked him if he wanted a dance but he said he didn’t because he has a girlfriend who he was really in love with. He said: “ She’s really beautiful. I wouldn’t want to have a dance because that would be like cheating on her”.’
Margo who says she is not really a stripper but a ballerina added: ‘He was happy to talk away. Soon after we started chatting he asked me why I was working there. He said: “Why don’t you try to get a better job?” I told him I liked the club and earned a good living.

SHAME-FACED Prince Harry was given a furious Chelsy Davy dressing-down last night over his antics in a lapdancing bar.
His loyal girlfriend discovered how strippers perched on the edge of his chair as he partied with a string of naked dancers and ogled their boobs.
Yesterday the repentant Prince took an ear-bashing phone call as news broke.
"It's Chelsy. How could you? I see you had a lovely time without me. But I miss you so much, you big ginger, and I want you to know I love you," said a hysterical voice.
Luckily the caller was joker brother Prince William. He thought he whole episode was hilarious and decided to take the mickey by putting on a high-pitched South African accent like Chelsy's.
Harry saw the funny side. But in Cape Town the REAL Chelsy was already seething over reports of the Prince celebrating passing out of Sandhurst with his military chums at a Spearmint Rhino club. To add insult to injury, he even talked about his girlfriend as he chatted them up.
Chelsy snapped as she returned to her Cape Town apartment in the early hours : "I've got nothing to say. No comment, no comment, no comment."
Privately, friends say she's hopping mad.
One said: "How would you feel if your boyfriend was discussing you with strippers? Not very nice, is it?"
The Prince told one girl: "She's beautiful," Yesterday Chelsy, below, who is due to fly in on Tuesday for Harry's official passing-out celebrations, was getting "I'm sorry" texts from him.
But the friend said: "She wants a proper face-to-face. This can't keep on happening." Meanwhile, girls at the club in Slough, Berks, told how the Prince charmed them into giving £20 dances for FREE.
He told each one of them in turn: "Cor, I think you've got the best boobs in the club!" Annabella, 22, revealed last night: "Harry's eyes were popping out like organ stops when the girls danced for him. He was inches away from one girl's boobs as she stripped."
Clarence House refused to comment last night. But a senior aide snorted: "He's joined the Army, not a monastary."
April 10, 2006 -
STRIPPER Mariella Butkute today reveals the full story of the night Prince Harry ogled her naked body in a lapdancing club.
Blonde Mariella says the nervous prince was "hypnotised" by her pert 32D breasts and told her as she sat flirting on his lap: "You really are one very lovely girl."
He then watched wide-eyed as she peeled off a skimpy G-string and performed a £20 nude lapdance.
Lithuanian-born Mariella, 28, said last night: "Harry was the perfect gentleman - polite and incredibly good looking. I sat on his lap for 10 minutes and he couldn't take his eyes off my boobs."
Not long after arriving at the club, Harry turned down a one-on-one dance in a private booth telling Mariella: "I'm sorry, I love my girlfriend too much."
But only a few beers later he was begging her to give him and his pals a private pole dance on stage...and was disappointed when she told him she couldn't as the club was about to close.
Harry, 21, was with friends celebrating the end of his Army officer training at Sandhurst when they visited the Spearmint Rhino club near Heathrow Airport at 3am on Thursday.
Girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 21, was safely in South Africa studying for her final exams.
Stunning, 5ft 6in Mariella - who has danced for a host of celebrities including Premiership footballers, Jon Bon Jovi, Vin Diesel and John Hurt - watched from the bar as Harry and five Sandhurst pals walked in with two bodyguards.
They were directed to the VIP area in the centre of the club where they had the best of a succession of girls performing topless five-minute dance routines on a stage.
The group were assigned their own waitress who brought them a round of Stella Artois beer. Mother-of-one Mariella - stage name Margot - said: "I knew it was Harry straight away when he walked in. He's very tall, handsome, and stands out because of his ginger hair.
"I couldn't believe he was actually in the club. We've had celebrities in before, but never a Royal.
HARRY was wearing casual clothes, beige trousers, and a dark blue shirt. He looked very handsome, but very young.
"He and his friends sat in the central area on the ground floor of the club where there are black seats in a semi-circle near the stage, designed for groups of men.
"It's the best place to sit in the club, all the VIP customers sit there because they get the best view of the dancers.
"Harry and his pals were assigned their own waitress and ordered a round of Stellas. The club DJ was playing some 1980s-style music, some soft rock and some dance, the usual stuff.
"I'm not sure it was totally Harry's thing, but he and his pals obviously weren't there for the music.
"Harry and his pals looked like typical English gentleman. I was very impressed. They looked very smart. For a ginger boy, Harry is really handsome.
"Even though it was quite late I thought, 'Well, Harry's a customer just like everyone else who comes in, I'll go over and say hello'.
"Luckily, I was wearing my favourite dress. It's yellow, very short, low-cut and sparkly, guaranteed to grab a man's attention.
"I was also wearing 12cm-high, clear plastic heels, the kind porn stars wear, they make my legs appear really long and make my boobs lovely and pert.
"The shoes look painful to wear, but they're really comfortable to dance and walk around in. I also go to the gym a lot, at least five or six days a week, so I always look fit and toned. As I walked across the room to the club I pushed out my boobs and looked Harry straight in the eye. As I got closer he noticed I was looking at him and looked back at me.
"He looked so young and fresh-faced as he looked up at me with a cute smile on his face.
"I said: 'Hello Harry, I'm Margot'. I took his hand and shook it, then kissed him on both cheeks, European style - it made him blush. He replied, 'Hello, I'm Harry, how are you?'.
"I thought he was a very sweet, well-educated young boy. He smelt really clean and fresh, he was wearing a spicy aftershave, probably Issey Miyake.
I PUT my arm on his shoulder and looked into his eyes and said: 'Can I dance for you?'. He said politely, 'No, thank you, Margot, I have a girlfriend and I'm in love with her'.
"I said, 'never mind sweetie, we can have a chat, there's nothing wrong with that'.
"I sat down on his left knee and we began talking. He opened his legs slightly to give me more room.
"He was obviously very shy. He held his beer in his right hand and had his left hand firmly down by his side. But he found it very difficult taking his eyes off my cleavage.
"At first he tried to look in every other direction except at my boobs - so I moved them a bit closer towards him so he couldn't miss them. Let's just say he looked hypnotised!
"He asked where I was from, I said 'I'm Lithuanian'. He said he knew Lithuania, which surprised me. Not all Englishmen do.
"He then asked me about the job, and why I was doing it. I said, 'I'm a country girl, it's a way of making a living'.
"He said, 'Oh, I can see that. There's nothing wrong with it'. You are one very lovely girl. He didn't seem like other men who came to the club. He almost seemed afraid and nervous to be there - shy and a bit embarrassed.
"He then said, 'Margot, please have a dance with some of my friends'.
"So I did. The friend I chose was just like a young boy with dark hair and very smartly dressed.
"He was quiet and shy, and I took him to a private area about 10ft from where Harry and his other pals were sitting. But Harry still had a clear view of what was going on."
Harry and the others chuckled quietly as Mariella slid off her G-string and top - leaving her naked - and gyrated to Wham hit Everything She Wants.
She said: "As I began to strip, Harry's friend was soon ogling my body, just like all the young boys do.
"We're allowed to dance fully nude in private, so I slowly peeled off my dress to reveal my boobs and G-string.
"It is tiny, yellow, with black tassels, just like the dress.
"I call them my lucky knickers because in the past, men have put up to £200 in cash in them while I've danced for them. As I moved my body to the music I looked over my shoulder and could see Harry watching.
"He turned and looked at me over his shoulder, smiling, and I could tell he was enjoying what I was doing.
"I felt excited because I was performing for Harry as well as his friend. It was really quite a thrill.
"After removing the dress I toyed with my knickers for a while before taking them off.
"By this stage his friend was wide-eyed. I love the feeling of power over men when I'm dancing - and on this occasion it felt stronger than ever.
"We're not allowed to touch the customer when dancing, and we can only get within six inches of them, but it is still very erotic.
"After the dance had finished I went back to Harry and his friends and sat next to him. We carried on chatting for a while.
"Another girl joined the party and chatted to some of Harry's friends, but she didn't talk to the prince. He was mine that night.
"One of his friends then had two girls dance for him - in the club we call it double trouble.
"Then Harry wanted to get more involved and asked me to get up on the stage for them and give them a private pole dance.
"I was delighted to do it for him, but it was the end of the night, 4am, and there wasn't enough time.
"The security guys said, 'Margot, girls: The night is over, it's time to go back upstairs'.
"After that I said, 'Goodbye Harry, nice to meet you', and he said, 'Nice to meet you, too'.
"He never gave me any money - though I would have been happy to take it if he had offered."
Mariella, who has a ten-year-old son and whose parents still live in Lithuania, said she couldn't wait to tell her family she'd met the prince.
MY parents are proud of what I do and my mum will be really shocked and surprised that I met Prince Harry, but she will be very pleased it happened," she said.
Mariella, who has also worked as a cabaret dancer in a Caribbean casino where she learned to speak fluent English and French, moved to the UK last year.
"I've danced for a celebrities before, the actor Mickey Rourke came in once at Spearmint Rhino. "I've also danced for Jon Bon Jovi, Vin Diesel, John Hurt, Premiership footballers and one or two pop stars. But Harry's in a different league.
"There was a real buzz about the place after his visit. It was great to see him there and I hope he comes again.
But next time he should bring his brother Wills... and his dad!"

Clarence House has refused to comment on newspaper reports claiming Prince Harry went to a lap dancing club. The Daily Mirror and the Sun say the 21-year-old and his friends visited the Spearmint Rhino club near Slough, to celebrate the end of his army training.
Former Royal press secretary, Dickie Arbiter said it would not matter "one hoot" if the prince had been there.
"He's let his hair down, and so what? So many thousands of other people do exactly the same thing," he said.
"He's a 21-year-old, he's just finished 12 months at Sandhurst which is pretty gruelling for anybody and he's doing what thousands of youngsters do when they graduate, whether it's from Sandhurst or whether it's from university," he added.
'Jolly evening'
Both newspapers say the prince declined the offer of a lap dance in the club, in Colnbrook, Berkshire.
Novelist and friend of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Jilly Cooper, told Five Live anyone shocked by the prince's actions was "really very prudish".
"I mean he had a lovely time. He obviously got on with his mates. He passed out in very gruelling circumstances - he may well have to go to Iraq.
"He's under a lot of pressure. And then he goes out and has a jolly evening. I can't see anything wrong with it at all."
Prince Harry leaves Sandhurst next week, and will be watched by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall and his brother Prince William as he marches in the traditional passing out parade and commissions as an officer.
He will join the Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals regiment.
The Household Cavalry recently had squadrons on operational duty with the UN and Nato in Bosnia and Kosovo, and is expected to return to Iraq.

Just when they thought Cadet Officer Wales had finally grown up, Prince Harry proved there may still be a little way to go. The third in line to the throne celebrated his penultimate week at Sandhurst with a trip to a naked table-dancing club.
Accompanied by his personal protection officer and four friends, the party downed vodka Red Bulls and ogled the gyrating girls at the Spearmint Rhino Club near Heathrow. The group left at 4am, heading straight for Sandhurst, about 20 miles away, where they would have had time for very little sleep before breakfast at 6.30am.
A source at the club in Colnbrook, near Slough, said the young men arrived around 3am, and were entranced by the dancers performing on a small stage.
"Although Harry didn't have any private dances, two members of his party invited two of the girls over for nude dances at £20 a time and Harry got a very good look."
Although customers can opt to enjoy private dances in a booth, by having their dances at the table-side, Harry's friends ensured he saw everything he did.
The source added: "One of the girls they asked to dance naked was a tall statuesque blonde who bears more than a passing resemblance to Harry's girlfriend, Chelsy Davy. I can't imagine she'll be too pleased to hear that."
The club - which enforces a strict "no touching" rule for customers - would not comment yesterday. A spokesman said: "We have to maintain the utmost privacy for our clients, and although everyone is filmed on CCTV for security, we would never release those images."
Thankfully for Harry, it is not believed any paparazzi photographers were aware of his presence. The reaction of senior royals, and in particular his father Prince Charles, is likely to be mild irritation rather than anger.
'Red-blooded young man' A royal source said: "No one expects Harry to be a saint - he's a red-blooded young man whose new regiment the Blues and Royals is nicknamed the Booze and Royals.
"It's predictable that after staying the course at Sandhurst, he wants to let his hair down. And Charles and the Queen will at least be thankful that he didn't do any more than watch.
"The irritation will be that this story will take some of the shine off Harry's passing out parade next week. I think the senior royals will feel that once is permissible - just so long as he doesn't make a habit of it."
Harry's passing out, known as the Sovereign's Day Parade, will take place in front of his grandmother the Queen, Charles, Camilla and Prince William.
Although he was subject to a strict curfew when he arrived at Sandhurst, senior cadets are allowed significantly more freedom in their last term. They can go out at night during the week, so long as they are back for 6.30am roll call.
On Thursday night, Harry and his colleagues did several hours of ceremonial drill training in preparation for the parade, and were free of duties from 7pm onwards.
Yesterday Harry was back on duty at 7.30am for several hours of classes followed by more drill until almost 9pm.
A senior Sandhurst source said: "The only rule for cadets if they do go out is that it has to be more than three miles away from the campus. I think the aforementioned establishment comfortably exceeds that."
Clarence House made no comment but a source said: "The prince is 21 and what he does privately remains exactly that. The story's caused a fair bit of merriment among the prince's staff. Boys will be boys and Harry is more of a boy than most."
EXCLUSIVE: Boozy royal's 3am knees-up with strippers

A STRIPPER who offered to give Prince Harry a lap dance told last night how he turned her down, saying: "No thanks - I've got a girlfriend." But Mariella Butkute, who was wearing yellow hotpants and a matching bra, revealed the blushing Prince DID let her sit on his lap for ten minutes as they chatted at a nightclub.
Mariella, 31, said: "I couldn't believe I was sitting on a prince's lap. But he was the perfect gentleman He was definitely the most polite and well-spoken client I have ever had. After spending some time with Harry I feel like a princess."
Harry, due to graduate from Sandhurst on Wednesday, went to the Spearmint Rhino club in Colnbrook, Slough, early yesterday during a night out with pals.
The 21-year-old Prince arrived at 3am - and he and his pals could not keep their eyes off the topless dancers gyrating on the club's main stage.
Mariella, a mother-of-one from Lithuania, said: "When I saw him I didn't know who he was but one of the other girls said it was Prince Harry. I went straight over to him and kissed him on both cheeks.
"I asked him if he wanted a dance but he said he didn't because he has a girlfriend who he was really in love with. Harry added 'She's really beautiful. I wouldn't want to have a dance because that would be like cheating on her.'"
Mariella told him that his girlfriend, 20-year-old South African beauty Chelsy Davy, probably would not care - but he stuck to his guns.
She added: "He was happy to talk away. He's a really handsome boy and was really nice to talk to. Soon after we started chatting he asked me why I was working there.
"He said 'Why don't you try to get a better job?' I told him liked the club and earned a good living. I thought he was a really special person and very handsome but he's a bit ginger.
"He looks really young, a lot younger than most of the men that come here."
Mariella said the Prince talked a lot about his time at Sandhurst.
She added: "He told me he was enjoying it but said he missed his girlfriend a lot.
"He told me the worst thing about being a prince was that he can't go anywhere without people looking at him. I told him 'Well that's how it goes, darling'."
Harry arrived at the club with eight mates and a couple of minders. The group had been drinking at a nearby bar earlier. Two of the pals did not go in because the bouncers insisted one was too tipsy. The prince, dressed casually in a denim shirt and beige trousers, wandered inside and found a seat.
Dancers were soon approaching him and Harry chatted and joked with several of them. He accepted a free beer but stuck to soft drinks after that.
One of his friends did go for a nude table dance with Mariella and another pal went into a private room with a different stripper.
Dancers at the cub charge £10 a time for a topless dance or £20 for a nude dance in a private room.
But Harry preferred to watch the action with his mates in the main auditorium, where topless girls danced on the stage.
The group, thought to be celebrating their pending graduation, stayed until 4am. Harry was escorted out by his minders and into a Range Rover.
A club insider said last night: "A lot of girls went up to Harry to say hello.
"He was happy to chat with the girls and laughed and joked with them. They were all very well-behaved. They never over-stepped the line."
Harry is thought to be the first Royal to go to a lap dancing club.
But it is not the first time he has enjoyed a night out with a glamour girl.
In 2004 he was seen flirting with topless model Lauren Pope in London nightclub Chinawhites.
Harry's hell-raising reputation has got him in trouble in the past.
In 2001 he admitted drinking underage and smoking cannabis.
In 2004 he punched a photographer outside Pangaea nightclub in central London.
And in January last year he had to issue a public apology after he was snapped in a Nazi uniform at a fancy dress party.
A spokesman for Harry's father Prince Charles last night declined to comment.
