Prince William And Harry Don't Want Celebrity-Filled Xmas Party

London, England (BANG) - It's their party and they can do what they want to. And for two
young royals that means making sure no big-named celebrities show up to their private
event.

Sources say that Princes William and Prince Harry have banned celebrities from their
Christmas party in an attempt to keep the festive event private.

The young princes are organizing a pre-Christmas celebration for their friends at
London's trendy Crystal club on Wednesday.

A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "Wills is expected to turn up with his
girlfriend Kate Middleton and Harry is arranging for his girlfriend Chelsy Davy to fly to
London from South Africa ahead of the festive frolics. The red carpet will be out and
limos have been arranged. Ice sculptures are on order and it's all very exciting."

The source added, "A night like this will cost more than $265,000, so it's not a surprise
that the world and his wife will want to attend."

But William, 24, and Harry, 22, want to enjoy the party without worrying about unwanted
publicity, so they are making the guest list strictly friends only.

A host of celebrities were hoping to attend the bash, including Bob Geldof's daughter,
Peaches, who is an amateur DJ.

The source said, "Peaches and her pals were hoping to DJ but it's been made clear that
that won't happen as William and Harry don't want any extra publicity."

William - who is preparing for his passing out parade at Sandhurst Military Academy on
December 15 - and Harry are expected to visit the club within the next few days to
finalize the party plans.

The top sport in England these days isn't football or polo – it's guessing when Prince
William will finally get engaged to his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton and start the
countdown to what would be the wedding of the century.

Now into their fifth year as an absurdly attractive couple, Will and Kate, both 24, have
lately seemed so snuggly – and Kate so seamlessly ingrained into Will's inner circle of
friends and family – that the engagement gossip is getting as hot as a pot of Earl Grey.

Britain's Mail on Sunday even reported last week that Kate has been invited to the
Queen's country retreat Sandringham to join the entire Windsor clan for Christmas Day
lunch – an unprecedented honor for an unmarried partner of a royal and, if true, said one
royal observer, tantamount to an engagement announcement. (Buckingham Palace won't
confirm the invitation.)

There is also the 10,000-sq.-ft. neo-Georgian mansion being built by the royal family on
part of a 900-acre estate in a village in Herefordshire, which many believe is being
readied for Will and Kate.

"It's decision time," says Robert Jobson, author of a new book about the couple,
William's Princess. "Will has said he doesn't want to get married until he is 28, but
that is just a smoke screen. The pressure starts now."

So just how close is Will to popping the question? Those in the know at Buckingham Palace
say no one is ordering "Save the Date" cards just yet and insist Kate isn't being
formally groomed for the future.

"There are no people advising her or preparing her for anything," says one palace
insider. "She is going about her private life as a private individual."

Friends of the couple say that Will, known for his stubborn streak, won't let anyone
dictate a time frame – but also acknowledge an engagement is no longer a matter of if but
rather when.

"This is certainly not something they are going to rush into," family friend tells
PEOPLE. "But their relationship is very strong."

for family and friends than the holiday season - even a royal would think so.

Prince Willam's girlfriend was recently spotted doing some Christmas shopping in town.

Kate Middleton looked stylish in jeans and a big cardigan as she browsed around shops
near her west London home.

It has been speculated that the pretty brunette and her royal boyfriend will soon
announce their alleged engagement.

Although the 24-year-old prince has previously stated he does not want to marry before he
is 28, it has been reported that the pair are seriously considering taking the next step
in their relationship.

Robert Jobson, author of a new book about the couple, "William's Princess," told PEOPLE
magazine, "It's decision time. Will has said he doesn't want to get married until he is
28, but that is just a smoke screen. The pressure starts now."

Family friends say the couple - who have been dating for four years - are trying to
ignore all the speculation and do things in their own time.

A source said, "This is certainly not something they are going to rush into. But their
relationship is very strong."

Meanwhile, news that Queen Elizabeth has invited Kate to Christmas lunch has fueled
marriage rumors. Kate is the first unmarried partner to be invited to the festive
celebrations at the royal estate of Sandringham, in Norfolk.

Royal watchers say it's likely that Prince William and his longtime girlfriend, Kate
Middleton, are set to announce their engagement.

Queen Elizabeth has invited Middleton to spend Christmas with the royal family, and
Middleton won't be staying at gardener's cottage on the estate as she did last year.

Instead, she will be staying at the big house.

For royal watchers, Elizabeth's breaking her strict rule on no boyfriends or girlfriends
at the Christmas table can mean only one thing: A royal wedding is in the cards.

Engagement rumors have been flying since the pair started dating in college and reached a
fever pitch when the pair vacationed in the Caribbean.

The Dec. 1 cover of People Magazine features a holiday invite that some people say
indicates that the marriage is imminent.

"If that is the case, that's a huge deal," said J.D. Heyman, senior editor of People
Magazine. "That would certainly be a signal that she is a special person in the royal
family and that this might be a prelude to an engagement."

Robert Jobson, author of "William's Princess," agrees.

"It's quite clear that she is seen as potential marriage potential," Jobson said.

Memorabilia Already in Production

Stores are already making memorabilia. It seems like Britain wants a new princess.

"Everybody seems to like her," Heyman said. "The queen seems to like her. Prince Charles
seems to like her. This is certainly somebody who seems to have the royal stamp of
approval."

Middleton also appears to have the stamp of approval from a cautious queen.

"The queen is not ready to marry off anybody in the royal family after her recent
experiences," Heyman said. "Diana and Charles didn't take. Fergie and Andrew didn't take."

Prince William's love is a commoner. Middleton is the daughter of a former flight
attendant without a drop of blue blood in her veins.

The stories that raised suspicion
Prince William became suspicious of a News of the World story
Prince William first suspected that mobile phones used by the Royal household were being
tapped after the News of the World published a seemingly innocuous story about his knee.

The brief piece, which did not cause the kind of sensation some royal stories have in the
past, appeared in the paper's Blackadder column.

It said: "William pulled a tendon in his knee after last week's kids' kickabout with
Premiership club Charlton Athletic.

"Now medics have put him on the sick list."

The article went on to claim: "He has seen Prince Charles's personal doc and is now
having physiotherapy at Cirencester hospital, near his country home Highgrove."

What caused consternation was that so few people had been aware of the doctor's
appointment in the first place.

Both the prince's parents have been victim of similar phone-tapping scandals, where
intimate conversations soon became headlines across the world.

Moreover, newspapers can still add masses to their circulations with a major royal
exclusive.

The prince's concerns grew a week later when the same tabloid printed a story about how
he borrowed broadcasting equipment.

His chief of staff is a former SAS officer and his attitude was 'if this potentially (is)
happening to us, then who on earth else could this be happening to?'"

This time the story said: "If ITN do a stock take on their portable editing suites this
week, they might notice they're one down.

"That's because their pin-up political editor Tom Bradby has lent it to close pal Prince
William so he can edit together all his gap year videos and DVDs into one very posh home
movie."

Recalling the prince's concern, Mr Bradby said: "When he and I hooked up we both looked
at each other and said 'Now, how on earth did that get out?'."

"We worked out that only he and I and two people incredibly close to him had actually
known about it."

He added: "His chief of staff is a former SAS officer and his attitude was 'if this
potentially (is) happening to us, then who on earth else could this be happening to?'."

Other victims

Meanwhile, 14 other "alternative" charges which both Goodman and Mulcaire originally
faced were ordered to be left on the file.

They alleged that both men had intercepted "intentionally and without lawful authority"
voicemail messages left for a number of other high-profile names.

These were the Prince of Wales's aide, Helen Asprey; Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, the ex-SAS
officer who is private secretary to Princes William and Harry; and Prince Charles's
communications secretary, Paddy Harveson.

Other victims of Mulcaire's hacking were Sol Campbell's agent Sky Andrew, chairman of the
Professional Footballers Association Gordon Taylor, MP Simon Hughes and the international
supermodel Elle Macpherson.

He intercepted voicemail messages left for each of them.

The royal editor of the News of the World has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to intercept
voicemail messages.

Clive Goodman, 48, from London, was arrested after claims by the Prince of Wales's
household of security breaches.

Glenn Mulcaire, 35, admitted the same charge and five counts of intercepting messages on
the mobile phones of the likes of publicist Max Clifford.

Sentencing will take place after details of the case are outlined at an Old Bailey
hearing in January.

News of the World editor Andy Coulson, said he apologised "unreservedly" on behalf of the
newspaper to Prince William and Prince Harry, Paddy Harverson, Helen Asprey and Jamie
Lowther-Pinkerton "for the distress caused by this invasion into their privacy".

'Wrong' actions

In a statement, he said: "As the editor of the newspaper, I take ultimate responsibility
for the conduct of my reporters.

"Clive Goodman's actions were entirely wrong and I have put in place measures to ensure
that they will not be repeated by any member of my staff."

The other targets of Mulcaire's actions were said to include the Liberal Democrat MP
Simon Hughes and model Elle Macpherson.

Two other victims were in the sporting world - the chairman of the Professional
Footballers Association, Gordon Taylor, and England footballer Sol Campbell's agent Sky
Andrew.

Court apology

The case came to light in November 2005 following the publication of a story in the News
of the World about Prince William's knee injury.

William began to fear aides' mobile phone voicemail messages were being intercepted.

He wishes through me to take the first opportunity to apologise publicly to those
affected by his actions.

His suspicions were raised further when an article by Mr Goodman claimed that the prince
had been lent some broadcasting equipment by ITV's political editor, Tom Bradby.

Mr Bradby said that when he and William met later, "we both looked at each other and said
'Now, how on earth did that get out?'.

"... the answer we came up with is that it must be something like breaking into mobile
answering machine messages."

Complaints by three staff at Clarence House sparked the police inquiry which was widened
to examine whether other public figures had had calls intercepted.

Lib Dem MP Simon Hughes said that tapping or intercepting messages should only be done
with the authority of the law - and in exceptional cases such as terrorism.

"Intercepting personal voicemail messages is a completely unacceptable breach of privacy
- whether the victim is a royal prince, a politician, or someone completely out of the
public eye.

"People who leave messages and those intended to receive them are all entitled to have
private conversations.

"We live in an age where invasions of privacy are becoming more frequent. This does not
make the practice any more acceptable."

He added: "I have long held the view that courts should be allowed to deprive those
responsible for this sort of behaviour of their liberty because it is a serious offence
to interfere with the freedoms of others.

"Some people, like me, are resilient enough to take this sort of behaviour more or less
in their stride, but other people are not, and nobody should have to."

Goodman was suspended by the UK's best-selling newspaper after he was charged in August.

He was responsible for a raft of exclusives in his time and at 2002's Real Press Awards
was named Royal Editor of the Year.

After the pleas were entered, Goodman's counsel John Kelsey-Fry said the journalist
wanted to apologise to the members of the Royal Family concerned.

"He wishes through me to take the first opportunity to apologise publicly to those
affected by his actions.

"He accepts they were a gross invasion of privacy and Mr Goodman accepts that this
characterisation is correct.

"He therefore apologises unreservedly to the three members of the royal household staff
concerned and their principals, Prince William, Prince Harry and the Prince of Wales."

The News of the World publicly apologised to members of the royal family today for
invading their privacy after a senior journalist admitted a plot to hack into personal
phone calls.

The unreserved apology from the paper's editor Andy Coulson and its royal correspondent
Clive Goodman came as an Old Bailey court heard details of a phone tapping operation
targeting both royals and celebrities.

One of the public figures whose voicemail was intercepted - MP Simon Hughes - immediately
condemned the practice as "completely unacceptable".

"I have long held the view that courts should be allowed to deprive those responsible for
this sort of behaviour of their liberty because it is a serious offence to interfere with
the freedoms of others," he said.

Goodman pleaded guilty in court today to conspiracy to intercept telephone calls "without
lawful authority" between November 1 2005 and August 9 2006.

Goodman, 48, from Putney, south-west London, was arrested after claims - by members of
the Prince of Wales's household - of security breaches in its telephone network.

As he sat in the dock, his counsel John Kelsey-Fry QC said he wanted to apologise to
members of the royal family concerned.

The barrister told the judge: "He wishes through me to take the first opportunity to
apologise publicly to those affected by his actions. He accepts they were a gross
invasion of privacy and Mr Goodman accepts that this characterisation is correct.

"He therefore apologises unreservedly to the three members of the royal household staff
concerned and their principals, Prince William, Prince Harry and the Prince of Wales."

In dock with Goodman was Glenn Mulcaire, 35, a former footballer now private
investigator, from south west London, who admitted the same charge. Mulcaire further
admitted five charges of unlawfully intercepting voicemail messages left for publicist
Max Clifford; footballer Sol Campbell's agent Skylet Andrew, chairman of the Professional
Footballers' Association Gordon Taylor, MP Simon Hughes and the international supermodel
Elle Macpherson.

He intercepted voicemail messages left for each of them. Both men were remanded on
unconditional bail for pre-sentence reports - and face jail. The judge warned: "I am not
ruling out any options. It's a very serious matter." The case was put off to a date to be
fixed, probably in the next two months.

Fourteen other "alternative" charges which both Goodman and Mulcaire had originally faced
were ordered to be left on the file after their guilty pleas.

They alleged that both men had intercepted voicemail messages left for a number of other
high-profile names.

These were the Prince of Wales's aide, Helen Asprey; Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, the ex-SAS
officer who is private secretary to Princes William and Harry; and Prince Charles's
communications secretary, Paddy Harveson.

to meet the second in line to the throne. Bradby said that when they eventually met, the
Prince expressed his concerns.

They concluded that one of the ways the details could have come out was if mobile
voicemail messages had been intercepted. The journalist said: "We started discussing one
or two other things that had been happening recently - there had been a meeting he'd had
with a knee surgeon that only he and his personal secretary and the knee surgeon had
known about, that had got into the News of the World.

"Basically, the answer we came up with is that it must be something like breaking into
mobile answering machine messages.

"His chief of staff is a former SAS officer and his attitude was 'If this potentially
(is) happening to us, then who on earth else could this be happening to?'."

NoW editor, Andy Coulson said: "I apologise unreservedly on behalf of the News of the
World to Prince William and Prince Harry, Paddy Harverson, Helen Asprey and Jamie
Lowther-Pinkerton for the distress caused by this invasion into their privacy.

"As the editor of the newspaper, I take ultimate responsibility for the conduct of my
reporters. Clive Goodman's actions were entirely wrong and I have put in place measures
to ensure that they will not be repeated by any member of my staff.

"I have written today to Sir Michael Peat, the Prince of Wales's private secretary, to
this effect. The News of the World will also be making a substantial donation to
charities of the Princes' choice."

Sir Christopher Meyer, the chairman of the Press Complaints Commission, said later that
the PCC would examine any material relevant to the industry's Code of Practice arising
from the prosecution.

Buckingham Palace made no comment.

Prince Harry Buys Fireworks For Army Display

Wiltshire, England (BANG) - Out of the two young British royals, Prince Harry is the one
who always knows how to have a good time and entertain.

Britain's Prince Harry recently decided he wanted him and his army friends to have some
fun, so he put on a spectacular $395,000 fireworks display for everybody.

The 22-year-old royal decided to cheer up his fellow soldiers from his Blues and Royals
regiment during a grueling four-day camping exercise on Salisbury Plain, in Wiltshire.

Harry sent out his personal protection officers to buy rockets, disposal barbecues and
steak and chicken for the impromptu party.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper, "The point was to gain experience of eating
rations and surviving in the wild. They were nearing the end when Harry decided to have
some fun. The troops loved it, though it's not exactly common for soldiers on exercise to
be allowed a fireworks bash."

A Clarence House spokesman confirmed, "It has the commanding officer's blessing."

The royal is a popular soldier in the regiment and is always up for a laugh. He recently
bought a Spiderman duvet cover for the bed in his army barracks in Windsor as part as an
ongoing joke.

A source said, "Harry is very proud of his Spiderman duvet and pillow. He bought the set
to join in with the other lads who all have comedy duvets. There is everything from My
Little Pony and Bob The Builder to Barbie. Harry's room looks like an eight-year-old's.
But it has almost become a tradition that everyone has a comedy duvet."

He sent personal protection officers to buy rockets, two disposable BBQs, and steak and
chicken.

Harry, 22, had been camping on Salisbury Plain, Wilts, for four days. A source at his
Blues and Royals regiment said: “The point was to gain experience of eating rations and
surviving in the wild. They were nearing the end when Harry decided to have some fun. The
troops loved it, though it’s not exactly common for soldiers on exercise to be allowed a
fireworks bash.”

Harry did it while on stand-down time. Clarence House said: “It had the commanding
officer’s blessing.”

JOKER Prince Harry has bought SPIDERMAN bed sheets for his regimental barracks.

The 22-year-old Royal has the webbed wonder on his duvet and pillow.

Harry bought the machine washable polyester and cotton set from high street store Argos
for £17.99.

The prince got himself the kiddie’s sheets for his single bed as part of a wind-up.

Soldiers at Combermere barracks in Windsor, Berks — where Harry is an officer in the
Blues and Royals regiment — are running a contest to see who has the worst bedclothes.

An insider said: “Harry is very proud of his Spiderman duvet and pillow.

“He bought the set to join in with the other lads who all have comedy duvets. There is
everything from My Little Pony and Bob The Builder to Barbie.

“It is funny to think some of the most highly-trained soldiers in the British Army
snuggle up under duvets with their cartoon favourites on.”

Cornet Wales — Harry’s Army name — splashed out on the duvet and pillowcase set a couple
of months ago. He also has a poster of his cartoon favourite South Park above his bed in
his small single room. The source added: “Harry’s room looks like an eight-year-old’s.
But it has almost become tradition that everyone has a comedy duvet.

“It was started a few years ago by soldiers who wanted to have a laugh when senior
officers inspected rooms.

“They struggle to keep a straight face when they walk in and see a Bob The Builder duvet.
It’s a bit of fun and good for morale.

“Lads spend hours trawling the internet for sheets nobody else has got.”

Harry loves his duvet so much he is even expected to take them to Gun Camp in Wales next
week.

The young Royal is due to fly home today after enjoying a week-long break with girlfriend
Chelsy Davy, 21.

PRINCES William and Harry are planning a charity “super concert” to honour the memory of
their late mother Diana, Princess of Wales.

The event is envisaged for July 1 next year at the new Wembley stadium. The date would
have been her 46th birthday and comes a few weeks before the 10th anniversary of her
death on August 31.

Although the concert and its line-up have not been confirmed, fans of the princess are
likely to wonder whether Sir Elton John will reprise Candle In the Wind, which he sang at
her funeral.

Other stars who are being considered include Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue and George Michael.
The princes are expected to be on hand to host the event in front of a worldwide
television audience likely to reach hundreds of millions.

The new Wembley is still being completed at a cost of some £800m but is due to be opened
for the FA Cup final in May. It has been plagued by delays.

Paddy Harverson, the Prince of Wales’s communications secretary, said a formal
announcement would be made on the concert before the end of this year.

“The princes are considering a number of possible options for how they would like to
remember their mother,” said Harverson. “This is just one possibility among several and I
would not like to go into any more detail while discussions are ongoing.”

Managers at Wembley, which will be the largest roofed stadium in Europe, hope the concert
will boost the venue’s profile in its launch year and give a positive worldwide image for
British engineering in advance of the 2012 London Olympics.

John’s performance at Diana’s funeral on September 6, 1997, watched by more than one
billion people worldwide, provided one of its most memorable moments. Candle In the Wind
went on to become the greatest-selling CD single of all time.

However, the princes are said to want the concert to be an “upbeat, joyous tribute” to
their mother’s life and work, with any proceeds going to a selection of charitable
organisations.

Diana’s best-known campaigns included work to ban landmines and help counter prejudice
against Aids victims.

Centrepoint, the homeless charity, was also a favourite of the princess and could receive
a portion of the proceeds, although her sons have yet to decide which charities would
benefit.

The princes’ plans are understood to have the full backing of their father.

Diana died following a crash in the Pont de L’Alma road tunnel in Paris along with Dodi
Fayed, the son of Mohamed al-Fayed, the owner of Harrods and Fulham football club.

Henri Paul, the driver of the Mercedes car, was also killed but Fayed’s bodyguard Trevor
Rees-Jones, who was the closest to the point of impact, survived. He was the only
occupant of the car wearing a seatbelt.

William and Harry are said to be keen for the anniversary to be a celebration of Diana’s
life rather than a reason to dwell on the continuing controversy surrounding the fatal
crash. However, interest in her death is set to be revived in the next few months.

Shortly before Christmas, Lady Butler-Sloss, a former lord justice of appeal who is to
conduct the inquests into the deaths of Diana and Dodi, will receive a report into the
incident being prepared by Lord Stevens, the former Metropolitan police commissioner.

Stevens’s inquiry is piecing together some 20,000 documents and 1,500 witness statements.
After reading his report, Butler-Sloss will decide whether to hold joint or separate
inquests. Hearings are expected to begin early in the new year.

The Queen invites Kate to Christmas at Sandringham

She may look like an every-day girl, but Kate's got a Royal date at Sandringham this
Christmas.

She has already been granted a rare private audience with the Queen, and now Prince
William's girlfriend has been honoured with an invitation to Sandringham for the Royal
Family's Christmas lunch.

It is the first time an unmarried partner has been invited to the festivities at the
Norfolk estate, and it clearly indicates how close Kate Middleton has become to the Royal
Family.

However, the 24-year-old has not yet accepted the prestigious invitation, as she
struggles to find a compromise if she misses her own family's traditional Christmas
get-together.

The news of the invitation comes amid speculation that the pair will shortly announce
their engagement. The High Street store Woolworths has already manufactured memorabilia
to celebrate the event, which includes mugs, plates, slippers and computer mouse mats.

Last night a source close to Kate told The Mail on Sunday: "Kate has been invited to
Sandringham for Christmas lunch, but she has yet to accept. It is incredibly prestigious,
so she is unlikely to turn down such an important invitation."

The immediate Royal Family always gather for the festive season at Sandringham, where
they enjoy a traditional turkey dinner, followed by shooting on Boxing Day. Last year,
Kate was only invited to join the Royal Family on Boxing Day.

"Kate naturally wants to be with William at Christmas,' a friend revealed. "She is
incredibly close to her parents and her brother and sister, but Kate knows that, if she
and William stay together, there will have to be compromises.

"It is a case of each of them balancing Christmas between their two families - and at the
moment she is leaning towards Sandringham.

"She knows that it is a great honour to be asked and that William would never not be
present at the Christmas lunch. They are now discussing the idea of going to Berkshire
after the shoot on Boxing Day to spend time with Kate's family."

But last night Royal aides speculated that Kate may actually decline the offer in order
to deflect further speculation that the pair, who have been together for four years, are

One Royal aide said: "If Kate does come it will send the rumour mill into overdrive.
Although they had a good laugh about the engagement china, there is already a lot of

LIMASSOL, Cyprus: Britain's Prince William, along with 220 other Sandhurst Royal Military
Academy cadets, is being toughened in Cyprus before earning his pips as an officer,
British army officials said yesterday.

William, 24, like his younger brother Prince Harry before him, is taking part in field
exercise 'Winter Victory', the final test in soldiering cadets must endure before passing
out from the prestigious academy.

The second in line to the throne is expected to pass with flying colours and become a
second lieutenant in the Household Cavalry after his final parade at Sandhurst next month.
Harry successfully completed the exact same course in March, so he has a slight advantage
over his elder sibling in the British army pecking order.
The 12-day Cyprus exercise is a testing examination of stamina, endurance and being able
to make the right decisions under fire.

"This is tough and unforgiving terrain and we are keeping them very busy and under
pressure, both physically and mentally," Lieutenant Colonel Ronnie McCourt said.

"This is almost identical to the exercise his brother did and William is taking part
along with the rest of the cadets, there is no special treatment," he added.
Cadets are burning up to 5,000 calories a day, sleeping three to four hours a day on
average, undertaking 11-km marches carrying a 18-kilo backpack and living out of tents.
Furthermore, William has only field rations to look forward to and rudimentary washing
facilities on hand.
The prince must also endure mock beach assaults, night exercises, helicopter airlifts and
dodge explosions.
The army is keen to underline that the prince is being treated like an "ordinary grunt".

"I think it's true to say he's finding it taxing along with everyone else. I make sure
all cadets are treated the same and there are no concessions," said McCourt.

"It is very sapping stuff. We are making sure they are up to the army, which is a very
busy one at the moment."

He is doing the course within the British sovereign base area encompassing Episkopi
garrison and the Royal Air Force base at Akrotiri on the Mediterranean island's southern
coast near Limassol.
The son of Prince Charles and the late princess Diana has been in Cyprus for several days
and his training schedule and departure are being kept secret for "security reasons",
although the British army confirmed William was already half-way through the test.

There’s nothing like the whiff of a royal wedding to stir the entrepreneurial spirit.

Rumours of impending nuptials between Prince William and his girlfriend, Kate Middleton
have prompted a flurry of cyber-squatting, in which internet opportunists have registered
a series of addresses containing the names Wills and Kate.

Willsandkate.com and willsandkate.co.uk have both been snapped up in the hope that
internet searches on the couple, who have been together since 2001, will direct traffic
to the sites.

Cyber-squatters usually auction the addresses to the highest bidder or use the sites to
sell advertising.

Nadia Ali, 33, a civil servant from Croydon, bought the name willsandkate.com for £24.99.
She told Times Online: "I like the name and will develop the website soon. I don’t know
yet what it’s going to be, but rest assured it will be a very nice site."

Clarence House would not comment on the registrations, but experts said that even if the
Royal Family challenged them, it would be difficult to prove that the Prince and Miss
Middleton had a prior right to the name.

"It’s unlikely the couple would have a case," Jonathan Robinson, chief operating officer
of NetNames, a domain name management company, said. "Who owns the rights to the name
Wills and Kate? Is it Hello! magazine? Is it Wills and Kate who live in Wimbledon?

"Willsandkate.com is a very good address," he added. "It’s memorable and topical; the
Royal Family is always of interest, and Prince William and his girlfriend are one of its
most contemporary features – it could sell for a lot of money."

But Angus Hanton, manager of giraffe.co.uk, which last year sold the domain name
three.co.uk for over £100,000, said that even if the registrations were valid, the
addresses would not be valuable because they weren't distinctive enough.

"There’s too many alternatives – people could type it with or without a hyphen, they
could put Wills or William," Mr Hanton said. "Plus, there’s the possibility that he could
change his mind."

Emily Taylor, director of legal policy at Nominet, which arbitrates in disputes over
domain names, said that in order to dispute a registration, a person had to show firstly
that they had a prior right to a name, and secondly that the registration of the name was
abusive and unfairly detrimental.

"If the name is found to be generic, such as shoes.com, then the market for selling it is
legitimate," Ms Taylor said.

It’s not the first time the Royal Family – whose official website gets 12 million hits
per year – have fallen victim to cyber-squatters. Princecharles.co.uk is owned by a
Prince Charles look-alike who reportedly earns thousands of pounds per appearance
overseas. Princeofwales.com and princeofwales.co.uk have also been bought.
When Prince William’s girl couldn’t open her own door!
London, Nov 20: Prince William’s girlfriend Kate Middleton was in a fix when she found
herself locked out of her Chelsea home and stranded in the cold.

Even her Prince charming who came to her rescue immediately, could not open the door with
his set of keys, and in the end the couple left in separate cars.

"Kate arrived at her flat at about 11.30 with a cup of coffee in her hand, when she
realized she had forgotten her keys. She was rummaging around in her handbag and became
quite anxious when she realised she had no way of getting in,” an onlooker was quoted by
the Daily Mail, as saying.

"She buzzed on some of her neighbours' bells but no one was around to let her in. William
turned up in his Audi A8 with a security officer and tried to help her in with his own
set of keys but something must have happened to the lock. In the end they just decided to
leave. William drove off in his car and Kate in hers," she added.

Meanwhile royal observers have predicted an engagement announcement soon - and last week
Woolworths revealed it had already manufactured William and Kate memorabilia to ensure
they will not be caught out by a Royal Wedding announcement.

The young prince recently enjoyed a canoe safari with his bikini-clad girlfriend in
Namibia this week, but it seems like Harry got a little clumsy in the water.

The 22-year-old royal looked relaxed and happy as he paddled down the Orange River with
Zimbabwe-born Chelsy Davy - who was wearing a blue and white two-piece - in a two-man
Mohawk canoe on Wednesday.

The prince - who is on a week-long leave from training with the Household Cavalry's Blues
and Royals regiment - flew out to Cape Town on November 16 to celebrate his girlfriend's
completion of her final college exams. They spent two days celebrating before driving the
five hundred miles to Namibia on Saturday.

Harry and Chelsy decided to reject luxury four-star hotels in favor of the great outdoors
and they have spent four-days paddling 50 miles down the river. The besotted couple have
been sleeping under the stars and cooking fresh meat on a barbeque.

Despite his best efforts, Harry is obviously not a canoe-natural and he was pictured
struggling to climb back onboard the craft after jumping into the river for a dip.

The prince is set to return to England to rejoin his regiment on Thursday.

cruise with his very own African Queen.

The 22-year-old Prince has been holidaying with his girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, in Namibia
during a break from training with The Household Cavalry.

Travelling in a two-man Mohawk canoe, the couple have been paddling by day along the
picturesque Orange River, occasionally stopping off to swim in the clear blue water and
picnic.

Then by night the third-in-line-to-the-throne and Zimbabwean-born Chelsy, 21, have been
bedding down in sleeping bags under the stars on the river bank.

Their week-long holiday has come as a welcome relief for army officer Harry, who has
spent the last three weeks on an intensive training exercise in Scotland to prepare for
possible deployment to Iraq.

Although top brass have expressed major reservations about sending a senior royal out to
the conflict-ridden region, friends say the Prince is relishing the idea of front-line
service.

But even his preparations for war couldn't prevent the prince jetting off for a romantic
trip with stunning Chelsy, his girlfriend of two years, last week.

The trip was arranged to celebrate the end of university student Chelsy's finals. Harry
arrived in Cape Town on Thursday, the day after she sat her last, gruelling two-hour
paper in "advanced labour economics".

The couple spent two days partying before heading off on the eight-hour, five hundred
mile drive to Nambia on Saturday afternoon.

Accompanied by a group of friends, the pair stayed over in the picturesque Provenance
Camp, a short drive from the border with South Africa, before heading off down river into
Nambia's untamed wilderness.

And yesterday, the couple were finally spotted as they larked around on the water on the
final leg of their trip.

Looking stunning in a blue and white spotted bikini, Chelsy stretched gracefully skywards
before diving in for a cooling dip in the 95F degree heat.

After clambering back into their canoe, which was packed with provisions, it was Harry's
turn.

Unfortunately the gangling, six foot two inch prince was somewhat less graceful. Gingerly
balancing on the edge of the boat, he had to tip himself in.

Then, as he tried to haul himself back inside, Harry appeared to get stuck, forcing
giggling Chelsy to lean back and steady the craft.

After rinsing down their matching cowboy-style hats, the couple set back off on their
way, with gentlemanly Harry picking up the oars to allow his girlfriend to soak up a few
last-minute rays.

The couple arrived at their final destination, the glorious Norotshama Rover resort,
shortly after lunch. Sitting on the balcony of their luxury thatched chalet, they toasted
their river adventure with ice-cold bottles of beer before partying late into the night.

The couple will now drive back to Cape Town before Harry catches a flight to England
where he will rejoin his regiment at their barracks in Windsor.

A Ministry of defence spokesman said Harry had taken annual leave for the trip and had
not been given any special treatment.

extremely high spirits today.

That's because the mass circulation Daily Mail newspaper of Britain recently published a
full colour photo of Prince Harry, third in line to the British throne, sporting a
T-shirt with the Banks beer logo emblazoned on the left breast.

Unfortunately, it was used to illustrate a story of the prince and his girlfriend Chelsy
Davy on an all-night drinking spree in South Africa as part of a celebration of Davy's
21st birthday.

According to the Mail, "the prince, too, looked distinctly queasy as he emerged with

The stewardess failed to recognise the second in line to the throne, and instead of laying on red-carpet treatment she turned him away. After Clarence House sources confirmed yesterday that William had been on the P&O ferry, the company admitted that it was embarrassed. In the club lounge the Prince could have enjoyed a complimentary glass of champagne or a cup of tea or coffee. Chris Laming, a P&O spokesman, said: “We had heard stories that the Prince had tried to get into the club lounge and been refused. However, because his name did not appear on the manifest we had been unable to confirm it was actually him. “I suppose if the Prince chooses to travel incognito and eschew a visit to the bridge and a handshake with the captain he is likely to find out what life is like as an ordinary mortal sooner or later. “However, it is somewhat surprising that the stewardess failed to recognise him, and no doubt someone will be having a word with her.” According to passengers on the Pride of Kent, the Prince and three companions tried to get into the club lounge soon after the vessel left Dover for the 75-minute Channel crossing.
