London, England (BANG) - Britain's Prince William is soon set to lead his fellow army cadets in the famous passing out parade. The event will take place before his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
The prince, who is second-in-line to the throne, will lead more than 500 fellow Sandhurst Military Academy cadets on the final day of his training next month. William will be carrying a ceremonial flag known as the Sovereign's Banner.
He was given the honor because his platoon has finished in top place after ten months of officer training. The 24-year-old also has a chance of winning the Sword of Honor award, which is given to the best cadet each year.
William began the final phase of his officer training on Monday as he flew to Cyprus for a ten-day punishing exercise program.
While William is sweating it out in Cyprus, his girlfriend Kate Middleton is in South Africa. The 24-year-old brunette is in the country for a week-long safari to celebrate the 25th birthday of business tycoon Sir Richard Branson's daughter Holly.
A group of 30 friends reportedly jetted to South Africa over the weekend - flying first class on Virgin Airways, which is owned by Branson.
